Consider the product and carton sizes together.
Start with a photo, Taobao, 1688 or Alibaba link, or a brief for a Chinese factory. Include required outer dimensions, material, colour and quantity. An organiser also needs compartment dimensions and folding details; textiles need size, composition and edge finishing. Similar photos do not establish identical specifications.
An inexpensive, lightweight item may occupy substantial packaging space. Before deciding on a batch, clarify whether products fold or nest and how many fit in an outer carton. Freight estimates need carton dimensions and weight; charging methods depend on the agreed shipping service. Materials, samples and shipping are assessed separately from the unit price.
For fragile decor or glass parts, agree surface protection, dividers and individual packaging. Textile checks can cover measurements, seams and colour; organiser checks can cover shape, assembly and contents. A sample helps establish inspection criteria, while packaging and batch checks are booked to the required scope. Mention any special intended use before purchasing.
